‘Corruption Raja’ Rocks AP Power Circles

Update: 2026-03-10 04:13 GMT

In the Andhra Pradesh government, no matter which department it is, the influence of his people is dominant. For this, that key minister in the Andhra Pradesh government has even formed several teams. Notably, a large number of NRIs are also part of these teams. All the major deals in the government are reportedly being handled under the leadership of the Kim team. From power projects to mining projects and other matters, everything is being dealt with by the Kim team, according to ministers in Chief Minister Chandrababu’s cabinet themselves. If one thinks that all this is happening without the knowledge of the Chief Minister, there is no such possibility. There is also a discussion among ruling TDP leaders that this time Chandrababu Naidu, unlike in the past, seems to have completely let go of the reins. Now, the issue of a “corruption Raja” has become a hot topic in Andhra Pradesh’s official circles. Interestingly, this corruption Raja is also an NRI.

A minister revealed that he is currently operating as many as seven sand reaches that generate huge revenue. Not only that, it is being said that he has also secured software works and other key assignments in the Excise Department. It does not stop there. Senior officials say that he is also interfering in the transfer matters of several key departments. Since he is known to be extremely close to the key minister, the issue has become a major headache for officials as well. Government sources say that already, without the permission of an NRI, no key files in the Revenue Department are moving forward. Especially, all key files are reportedly being cleared only after a phone call comes from him. Government sources revealed that officials of that department themselves are saying this. Among the ministers, there is talk that this corruption Raja spends one month here and another month in the United States, while managing all affairs on behalf of the key minister.

Some say that the key minister is also using him to route the money earned through corruption, a senior minister revealed. TDP leaders themselves are expressing concern that the narrative that corruption has increased in the coalition government compared to the previous YSRCP regime has emerged even before two years of the government being formed, which is not a good development. Moreover, in several illegal activities that took place during the previous government, the teams of the key minister are reportedly entering the scene and making settlements, thereby amassing thousands of crores of rupees, according to official sources. Seeing the conduct of key leaders in the government, there is also a widespread discussion in official circles that some senior officials too are following the same path.
