Prabhas' Raja Saab Likely to Shift Release to Sankranti Festival!

Update: 2025-08-06 04:55 GMT

In Tollywood, for some time now, no film has been released on the initially announced date. Whatever the reasons may be, most big films are arriving before audiences only after changing their release dates. Sometimes, producers look to avoid competition at the box office. At other times, delays in completing shooting and other post-production work result in release postponements. Now, it seems the same is happening with the much-awaited Raja Saab movie, which Prabhas fans are eagerly looking forward to. However, it can be said that there isn’t a significant gap between the previously announced and the new release dates.  Many were surprised when a film was announced in the combination of director Maruthi and Prabhas. As per the schedule, this film was supposed to release worldwide on December 5.

However, responding to fans’ wishes, the film’s producer — People Media Factory head T.G. Vishwa Prasad — hinted that they are considering releasing it during Sankranti. In a recent interview, he said that many people are hoping that Raja Saab will come for Sankranti. However, he also mentioned that there is a demand from the Hindi market to release the film on the previously announced date of December 5. He revealed that the entire film shooting has been completed and only a few songs are yet to be shot. He said Raja Saab will definitely impress the audience and confirmed that there will be a Part 2 for this movie as well. As is known, for Raja Saab, a lavish Haveli/Rajmahal set was erected at a cost of approximately seven crore rupees. This set was shown to the media a few days ago. However, it is being said that the producers of Raja Saab are keen on changing the release date of the movie. Naturally, Sankranti always sees heavy competition at the box office. But if Prabhas’ film locks the festival date, it's no surprise if other films step back. If it enters the Sankranti race, Raja Saab may hit the screens on January 9.
