The film Akhanda 2: Tandavam, which hit the screens amid huge expectations, has crossed ₹100 crore in gross collections worldwide. This movie, made in the combination of Boyapati Srinu and Nandamuri Balakrishna, is known to have faced several hurdles before its release. There is an opinion among Balakrishna’s fans that the delay in the film’s release affected its final result. Since this is a sequel to Akhanda, many had higher expectations that the film would surpass the first part. It must be said that it failed to live up to those expectations. On the other hand, this is Balakrishna’s first pan-India film. Although expectations were that, based on its content, it would generate good revenues in the Hindi market, these estimates turned out to be completely wrong.
As a result, the major share of collections had to be limited to the two Telugu states along with overseas collections. With Akhanda 2, it can be said that Balakrishna’s films have consecutively crossed ₹500 crore in gross collections. The films in this list are Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, Bhagavanth Kesari, Daaku Maharaj, and Akhanda 2. Even though Akhanda 2 received mixed responses, it is noteworthy that the film managed to achieve ₹100 crore in gross collections. However, these collections are not at all sufficient for the buyers to come into profits; Tollywood circles say that so far only about 60 percent recovery has been achieved. The production house 14 Reels Entertainment announced only the first-day collections, but has not officially announced the ₹100 crore milestone yet.
