Mirai Review: A Visual Spectacle with Power-Packed Action

Update: 2025-09-12 11:59 GMT

Just like how Teja Sajja surprised everyone with Hanuman despite having no expectations, he has repeated the same with Mirai. Initially, there were no big expectations on Mirai either, but once the teaser and trailer were released, the hype around the movie grew to another level. Director Karthik Ghattamaneni, with this movie, has undoubtedly earned his place among the top directors. The hot topic now, both among audiences and in Tollywood circles, is how such high-quality output was delivered with such a low budget compared to big films. Released worldwide on Friday amidst huge expectations, this film turned out to be a solid hit at the box office, giving both Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj a big success. In this movie, both Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj gave electrifying performances.

Some viewers even feel that, at times, Manchu Manoj dominated Teja Sajja with his acting and dialogues. However, Teja Sajja’s hard work is clearly visible in the action sequences. The entire story revolves around nine books, as the film unit has been saying for a long time. These nine books end up in the hands of nine warriors. Manchu Manoj’s character dreams of collecting all of them, attaining immortality, and ruling the world. The ninth book becomes the most crucial one. This is with actress Shriya, who plays Teja Sajja’s mother. She distances herself from her son during his childhood. How the hero reunites with his mother, and how he protects the ninth book with the help of the “Mirai weapon,” is what forms the crux of the movie.

Using Lord Rama’s bow as the Mirai weapon, along with adding mother-son sentiment in between, director Karthik Ghattamaneni succeeds in narrating the story in an engaging manner. Though there are a few lags here and there, overall, the movie manages to captivate audiences. In the role of Veda, Teja Sajja appears in two variations—first as a fun-loving routine guy, and later as a true warrior. In both shades, he showcased impressive variety with his action. Manchu Manoj, as Mahaveer Lama, was a perfect fit for the role. Though Jagapathi Babu and Jayaram’s roles were limited, they did full justice to their characters. Most importantly, apart from the performances of Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj, the biggest highlight of the movie is the VFX effects, which elevated the film to another level. Gaurahari’s background music also played a key role in the success of Mirai. With this film, it is certain that Teja Sajja will score his second ₹100 crore movie.
