The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is the largest stock exchange in the country. It is particularly at the forefront in terms of trading volume and market turnover. Details of the much-awaited NSE IPO were unveiled on Friday. The price band for the NSE IPO has been fixed at ₹1,700–₹1,785 per share. Through the IPO, the company is set to raise a total of ₹22,562 crore from the market. Accordingly, the company’s market capitalization has been pegged at ₹4.42 lakh crore. The public issue will open on September 17 and close on September 21. The entire issue will be offered through the Offer for Sale (OFS) route. Each applicant will have to apply for a minimum of eight shares. The face value of each share is ₹1. NSE shares are expected to be listed on September 24.

The shares will be listed on the BSE. At present, NSE has ten shareholders, including institutions such as State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, MS Strategic (Mauritius), General Insurance Corporation of India, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, and Aranda Investments (Mauritius). In fact, the NSE IPO was initially expected to become the largest IPO ever in India. This was because media reports suggested that the company could raise around ₹30,000 crore from the market. However, with the issue size now limited to ₹22,562 crore, the Hyundai Motor India IPO will remain the largest IPO in the country. Once the Reliance Jio IPO hits the market, however, the NSE IPO will be pushed to the second position. The Reliance Jio IPO is expected to arrive sometime between Dussehra and Diwali.
