US-Iran Peace Deal Still Uncertain as Fresh Military Strikes Escalate Tensions!

Uncertainty continues to surround the proposed peace agreement between the United States and Iran. While reports repeatedly suggest that a deal is imminent, there has been little visible progress on the ground. Interestingly, U.S. President Donald Trump is now using the same rhetoric regarding Iran that he previously used while discussing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During trade negotiations, Trump often remarked that Modi was a tough negotiator. Now, he is making similar comments about Iran during discussions related to a potential peace agreement. Even as Washington claims that preparations for a peace deal are nearly complete, the United States has continued launching attacks on Iran, describing them as measures taken in self-defense. Iran, in turn, has responded with attacks of its own. As a result, tensions in West Asia appear to have returned to square one. Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, both countries have recently engaged in fresh rounds of military action against each other.

                                              The U.S. military carried out strikes targeting Iranian radar systems and drone command-and-control centers. In retaliation, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched attacks aimed at a U.S. military facility. According to U.S. Central Command, the strikes were conducted in response to Iran's downing of an MQ-1 drone operating in international waters, along with what it described as other provocative actions. The United States stated that it targeted military facilities in the Iranian city of Guruk and on Qeshm Island. It claimed that the operation destroyed an Iranian air defense system, a ground control station, and two attack drones. U.S. officials emphasized that the strikes were carried out purely for defensive purposes.

                                                Meanwhile, the IRGC announced that it had targeted the airbase used by the United States to conduct attacks on Iranian military installations. It said that its aerospace forces were responsible for the operation against the U.S. airbase. However, the IRGC did not disclose the country in which the targeted airbase was located. Kuwait later announced that its air defense systems had successfully intercepted several missiles launched by Iran. Regardless of the reasons behind the conflict, the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran is creating significant challenges for several Gulf nations. At the same time, Qatar strongly condemned Israel's continued attacks on Lebanon, adding another layer of tension to an already volatile regional situation.
