Update: 2026-08-01 09:11 GMT

Pan-India star Yash has never been embroiled in controversies in the past. However, his upcoming film Toxic has been surrounded by controversy right from the beginning. The primary reasons are its violent content and explicit intimate scenes. The promotional content released so far has already created a sensation. On Saturday, the makers shared a major update about the film. They announced that the trailer of Toxic will be released on August 8. Along with the announcement, they unveiled a new poster featuring Yash in a fresh look. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26. Initially, Toxic was planned for release in March this year, but it was later postponed to June. It is now finally set to hit theatres in August. The music for Toxic is composed by Ravi Basrur, while KVN Productions is backing the project.

The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas. In the recently released Ramayana trailer, Yash's portrayal of Ravana overshadowed the other characters. The Ravana character received a stronger response from audiences than Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Lord Rama. As a result, all eyes are now on the Toxic trailer. It also remains to be seen whether the film will spark more controversies. Yash shot to pan-India fame with the two KGF films. Toxic features an ensemble list of actresses, including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria, who will be seen in different roles.
