The release date of Jana Nayagan, starring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK president Vijay, has been officially announced. Although the film was originally scheduled to release before the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, its release was delayed due to censorship issues. As this is Vijay’s final film as a lead actor, it has generated tremendous buzz among fans. Earlier, reports suggested that censorship hurdles were deliberately created because there were concerns that releasing the film before the elections could influence the poll outcome. Now, after overcoming all the issues, Jana Nayagan is set to hit theatres on July 23. Pooja Hegde plays the female lead opposite Vijay, while Mamitha Baiju appears in another key role.
Announcing the release date, the makers said, "The tougher the battle, the greater the victory." Kollywood audiences, in particular, have been eagerly awaiting the film's release. According to reports, director H. Vinoth has adapted the story by making certain changes to Bhagavanth Kesari, starring veteran Tollywood actor Nandamuri Balakrishna. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while the film has been produced by KVN Productions. It remains to be seen how many box office records the film will set after its release. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has awarded Jana Nayagan an 'A' certificate, and the film has a runtime of 3 hours and 3 minutes.
