Director Ajay Bhupathi, who grabbed the audience's attention with RX 100, generated considerable interest with his latest film Srinivasa Mangapuram. The movie, presented by noted producer Ashwini Dutt and starring Ghattamaneni Jayakrishna as the lead, created a strong buzz even before its release. Adding to the anticipation was the casting of Rasha Thadani, daughter of former Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, as the heroine. All these factors helped build expectations around the film. Srinivasa Mangapuram was released worldwide on Thursday. Generally, a love story is considered the safest choice for launching a new hero, and the same approach has been taken with Jayakrishna. Ajay Bhupathi handled the story, screenplay, and direction. However, despite introducing a young hero from a well-known Tollywood background, he opted for a conventional love story with very little freshness.
Watching Srinivasa Mangapuram gives the audience the feeling that they have seen this love story in several films before. The romantic action drama fails to make a strong impact. Moreover, with both the lead actor and actress making their debut, there is not much to speak of in terms of performances. The story revolves around Tirupati, Chittoor district, and Ballari. Although the film attempts to include a twist in the love story, it does not generate much excitement. The narrative remains predictable throughout, making it feel similar to many films that audiences have watched in the past. As a result, the movie lacks energy despite featuring a sizeable supporting cast. The film stars senior actor Mohan Babu, along with Naresh, Brahmaji, and Kick Shyam.
Naresh, who usually impresses whenever he gets a strong role, does not have a character that stands out in this film. The roles of Mohan Babu and Shyam are also not particularly impactful. Since this is the debut film for both the hero and heroine, expectations from their performances are naturally limited. However, the lack of novelty in the love story, coupled with underwhelming roles for the supporting cast and an uninspiring narrative, leaves the film feeling flat. Overall, director Ajay Bhupathi fails to leave his signature mark on Srinivasa Mangapuram. In the end, the film remains just another routine love story.
