Peddi has emerged as the highest-grossing film of Ram Charan's career, earning a worldwide gross of nearly ₹393 crore. After the disaster of Game Changer, Ram Charan signed on to the film with the clear goal of delivering a box-office hit, and he succeeded in achieving the desired result. Although the film incurred losses in overseas markets and a few other territories, its overall box-office performance gave a significant boost to Ram Charan's career. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Janhvi Kapoor opposite Ram Charan. While the actor received widespread appreciation from audiences for his performance after the film's release, Janhvi Kapoor's role drew equally strong criticism. The director eventually apologized, and several scenes featuring her character were removed from the film.
After its successful theatrical run, Peddi is now heading to OTT. The film's production team officially announced that it will begin streaming on Netflix from July 9. The movie will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Although Peddi was made as a pan-India film, the majority of its box-office collections came from the Telugu-speaking states. Once again, Ram Charan was unable to make a significant impact in the Hindi market. Having performed impressively at the box office, it now remains to be seen how many records Peddi will set during its OTT run.
