It is well-known how high the expectations for Pawan Kalyan's movie OG have risen. With this excitement, the premiere shows, as well as the first-day shows, were completely sold out. His fans have high hopes, believing that with this film, Pawan Kalyan will break new records. Amidst these huge expectations, the movie was released to the audience on Thursday. Special premieres were also held from Wednesday night. This is Pawan Kalyan's second movie after he became the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. His first movie, Hari Hara Veeramallu, performed poorly at the box office. As a result, all eyes were on OG.
Speaking about the movie, it’s all about the elevation scenes; there is no scope to look for a plot or any other substance. The film focuses on showing Pawan Kalyan in a stylish look and elevating the movie with action scenes. There is nothing else to speak of. The background music by Thaman added life to these elevation scenes. Had this been handled differently, the outcome would have been disastrous.
If we talk about OG, it's solely Pawan Kalyan and Thaman’s movie. Director Sujeeth has tried to create chaos throughout the movie, but there’s no focus on the story or anything that would appeal to other audiences. The love track between Pawan Kalyan and heroine Priyanka Mohan also fails to engage the audience. Her screen space is very limited. Director Sujeeth, already known for using outdated stories in Tollywood, has imported a mafia story from Mumbai about a conspiracy to carry out bombings, only for a gangster, Ojas Gambhira, to thwart it. There is no novelty in the plot or storytelling. As a result, this movie will only remain a fan movie for Pawan Kalyan's fans. If you're hoping for something entertaining or festive, you won’t find any such elements here.
In the OG movie, director Sujeeth seems to have surpassed Boyapati Srinu with his scenes of decapitations, which is a natural impression that arises. With the increased ticket prices in two states, the movie is likely to register significant collections. However, despite the huge fan following of Pawan Kalyan, this is not a movie that entertains both fans and general audiences. The absence of other major releases also plays a role in OG's success.
