Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 has created a sensation at the box office. Everyone expected the film to cross the Rs. 1,000 crore mark and set a new record. However, as of November 4, the film had collected Rs. 821 crore. With these figures, it has become clear that Jailer 2 is unlikely to reach the Rs. 1,000 crore milestone. It is also evident that Tamil cinema will have to wait a little longer to see one of its films achieve this record. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film emerged as a blockbuster hit. Rajinikanth's stylish action sequences, the comedy in the first half, Anirudh's music and the elevation scenes were among the major highlights of the film. After creating a sensation at the box office, the film is now gearing up for its OTT release.
Jailer 2 will begin streaming from November 12 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. Leading OTT platform Amazon Prime has officially announced this development. The film was released worldwide on October 15, targeting the Dasara holiday season. Interestingly, it is arriving on OTT even before completing a month in theatres. S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan and several others played important roles in the film. Jailer 2 has set a record as the highest-grossing Tamil film.
