Manchu Vishnu’s Kannappa Begins Streaming on Amazon Prime After Delay

Update: 2025-09-04 06:14 GMT

The movie Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu in a key role, has now arrived on OTT. A few days ago, it was announced that this film would start streaming on the leading OTT platform Amazon Prime from September 4. However, as the streaming began with some delay, several netizens posted about this matter on social media. Responding to this, Amazon officially posted on Thursday morning around 10 o’clock that Kannappa streaming had started. The movie is available not only in Telugu but also in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. It is well known that Mohan Babu and Manchu Vishnu have repeatedly announced that this film was made on a huge budget.

With Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Sarath Kumar, and others playing key roles alongside, this movie created good buzz. Released worldwide on June 27, the film, however, failed to achieve the expected result at the box office. In fact, even though Manchu Vishnu as Kannappa, Prabhas as Rudra, and Mohanlal as Kirata gave life to their respective characters, the movie could not achieve good results in terms of collections.

Mohan Babu too impressed with his performance as Mahadeva Shastri. Now, it remains to be seen what result this movie, which failed to make an impact at the box office, will achieve on OTT. Estimates suggest that nearly ₹200 crore was spent on making this film. But the worldwide gross collections remained below ₹50 crore. The key point here is that critics too showered praise on Manchu Vishnu’s performance in Kannappa. There are also assessments that the negative publicity on social media against the Mohan Babu family somewhat affected the outcome of this movie.
