The film Aadarsha Kutumbam, starring Venkatesh and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, has received a mixed response from audiences. Expectations for the film rose significantly as soon as it was announced that the two would be working together after nearly two decades. However, as the film's release was postponed several times, the buzz surrounding Aadarsha Kutumbam dropped considerably ahead of its release. The impact was clearly visible on its first day. Finally, the film hit theatres worldwide on October 30. Within three days of its release, the film collected a worldwide gross of Rs. 75 crore. Production house Haarika & Hassine Creations officially announced the figure and also released a new poster featuring the box office collections. Bookings dropped significantly on Monday. This has raised questions about whether the film will be able to cross the Rs. 100-crore mark in worldwide gross collections.
The Sankranthiki Vasthunnam film, starring Venkatesh and directed by Anil Ravipudi, was the first film in Venkatesh's career to achieve a worldwide gross of Rs. 300 crore. Given that Aadarsha Kutumbam brought together Venkatesh and Trivikram, audiences had expected the film to perform at a similar level. However, many viewers who watched Aadarsha Kutumbam expressed the opinion that Trivikram's signature style was missing from the film. Compared to Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, the film appears likely to fall far behind in terms of box office collections. There is a discussion in Tollywood circles that this situation could prove more troublesome for director Trivikram Srinivas than for Venkatesh.
