AP Power Play: Ministers Accused of Coordinated Land Scams!

Update: 2026-04-11 04:36 GMT

A key minister from Andhra Pradesh has now become the subject of intense discussion—even among fellow ministers—over allegations that he is “earning with six hands.” While a person normally has only two hands, the phrase reflects the scale of alleged earnings through multiple channels. According to sources, the minister has already assigned specific “subjects” to his two sons and entrusted them with collection responsibilities. It is being said that both of them are successfully handling these operations. As if managing his own department wasn’t enough, the minister is now allegedly running large-scale land dealings across several important districts in Andhra Pradesh. Government sources reveal that he is not alone—three key ministers from the Rayalaseema region are reportedly involved in similar activities. However, this particular minister is said to be expanding his operations into multiple other districts as well.

The focus is mainly on areas where industrial zones and corridors are being planned or developed, as land values are expected to rise significantly in such locations. A senior official disclosed that the minister gathers crucial information through people who approach him for various works, and uses that intelligence to drive his operations. While coordination among ministers on public and governance-related matters remains unclear, sources—even within TDP circles—suggest that these three ministers are working in close coordination when it comes to acquiring land worth crores of rupees. The minister, who holds a key position in the government, is reportedly focusing on areas such as Madanapalle and Punganur in Annamayya district, as well as parts of Tirupati district. The alleged activities involve various categories of land, including 22-A lands, Inam lands, assigned lands, and dotted lands.

An IAS officer remarked that the minister appears to be operating in a highly calculated manner, identifying disputed lands through certain officials and proceeding accordingly. This indicates the level of planning involved in these operations. There is widespread buzz within Secretariat circles that these three ministers are mutually supporting each other and carrying out large-scale land transactions across districts such as Kurnool, Nandyal, Chittoor, Tirupati, Annamayya, Sri Sathya Sai, and Kadapa. Some revenue department officials are also said to be extending their support. A senior official revealed that pressure is being exerted on district collectors—either citing court orders or instructions from higher authorities. In some cases, even land records dating back to 1954 are being brought up to create pressure on officials and push through these dealings via questionable means. It is also reported that the ministers have formed special teams to manage and execute these operations.
