Discrepancy in Cabinet Decision and GO Sparks Allegations of Land Scam in AP
This is an example of how indiscriminately the coalition government is allocating government lands worth hundreds of crores. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh are taking decisions to allocate land to private companies at their discretion in the name of investments and employment. A few days ago, in a cabinet meeting chaired by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, it was decided to allocate lands to several organizations. Among them is the proposal from BVM Energy and Residency Private Limited, which belongs to the Kapil Group. It was stated that this company will implement a World Trade Center project in Vizag with an investment of ₹1,250 crores and that 15,000 jobs will be generated through it. This was also revealed by Minister Kolusu Parthasaradhi during a media briefing after the cabinet meeting. He stated that the company would be allocated 30 acres in Endada, Vizag at the rate of ₹1.25 crore per acre. But anyone would be shocked after seeing the details mentioned in the Government Order (GO) released on Friday. Contrary to what the minister said, the company was allocated only 10 acres in the first phase at the rate of ₹1.25 crore per acre. It was stated that 25 lakh square feet of space should be developed for various segments (mixed development). The GO mentioned that the remaining 20 acres requested by the company will be considered after the submission of a proposal related to the development of an integrated IT park.
How was this discussed in the SIPB meeting chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu even before the company submitted a proposal? Why is it mentioned in the GO that 10 acres are being allocated now and that a decision on the remaining 20 acres will be made later? But in the cabinet, it was stated as 30 acres allocation, ₹1,250 crore investment, and now, in the GO for just 10 acres, the same investment and job numbers are mentioned. What is the intention behind this? Doubts are arising as to whom they are trying to mislead. Officials are commenting that while companies like TCS were given 22 acres, they are now ready to allocate 20 acres for an IT park to BVM Energy and Residency Private Limited, which has barely any experience in the IT sector, indicating a major scam. They are expressing concerns that land in Endada, Vizag, costs more than ₹30 crores per acre, but a private company with hardly any brand value being given such valuable government land for its business implies there must be massive plans behind this. Initially, Ursa Clusters... and now even before receiving an official proposal, they are discussing allocation of 20 acres for an IT park — this shows what’s really going on. In Vizag, government lands worth hundreds of crores are being handed over to private companies indiscriminately.
