TDP Leader Deepak Reddy’s Remarks on Women MPs Spark Row!

Update: 2026-02-06 14:52 GMT

It is well known that a major controversy erupted when IndiGo Airlines services were disrupted across the country. During this controversy, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu also had to face severe criticism. At that time, comments made by TDP leader Deepak Reddy while participating in a Republic TV debate further fueled the controversy. He stated on Republic TV that their leader Nara Lokesh was in the war room and was continuously reviewing the situation. Following this, Arnab Goswami questioned what connection Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has with the Civil Aviation Ministry and how a state minister could monitor an issue that falls under the Centre’s jurisdiction. As this was reported in the media, a major uproar broke out. In fact, at that time, Nara Lokesh was not even in the country. While all this is a past controversy, now the same Deepak Reddy has landed in another controversy. He made sensational remarks stating that even though women MPs from the opposition do not carry any weapons, they still have the possibility of biting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

When a national channel representative, somewhat shocked, asked in return whether they would bite the Prime Minister, he replied that even if they do not have weapons, they do have teeth. Deepak Reddy made these remarks recently during a Times Now channel debate. It is known that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not respond in the Lok Sabha to the motion thanking the President Droupadi Murmu for her address to both Houses on the first day of the Budget Session. While the opposition criticized this as happening for the first time in the history of the country’s Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced that he had advised the Prime Minister not to attend the House after receiving information that some people were attempting to attack the Prime Minister by using women members as shields.

This has triggered widespread criticism. This has also become a major topic of discussion on social media. Some questioned whether Prime Minister Modi, who could not protect himself even in the Lok Sabha, could protect the country. There is also a debate that the reason given by the Lok Sabha Speaker is not reasonable at all. In this context, the comments made by TDP leader Deepak Reddy on national media, stating that women MPs would bite the Prime Minister, are creating a major controversy. This clip has now gone viral on social media. A senior party leader commented that by raising completely unrelated issues, the TDP is inviting controversies upon itself.
