US Launches Fresh Strikes on Iran After Hormuz Attacks, Oil Prices Jump

The United States has once again launched attacks on Iran. The latest strikes came at a time when funeral ceremonies for Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were underway, making the development particularly significant. The US officially stated that the strikes were carried out in retaliation for Iran's recent attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran reacted strongly to the latest US attacks and warned that it would respond forcefully. Reports said that, in response to the American strikes, Iran once again launched a series of drone and missile attacks on Bahrain. The United States has expressed anger over Iran's actions, saying that Tehran continued to carry out attacks even after a peace agreement had been reached between the two countries. According to the US, Iran ignored the peace agreement and attacked commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting retaliatory strikes. The US carried out attacks on 10 locations, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik. Washington said Iran's aggression was dangerous and amounted to a violation of the ceasefire.

The US Central Command said in a post on X on Wednesday that the strikes were launched in direct response to Iran's attacks on commercial vessels. "Iran is targeting commercial ships carrying innocent civilians in international waters. Iran will have to pay a heavy price for these actions. US Central Command forces have launched powerful strikes. These operations are a response to Iran's attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's aggression is unprovoked and dangerous. It is a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement," the US Central Command said. Meanwhile, even before launching the latest strikes, the United States revoked Iran's license related to oil sales. It said the decision was taken because Iran's actions in the Strait of Hormuz were completely unacceptable. Iran warned that the United States would be held responsible for the latest developments. Following the fresh US strikes on Iran, oil prices surged once again.
