Reliance Jio IPO Back on Track After Global Market Recovery!

Reliance Industries is preparing to launch the IPO of its telecom arm, Reliance Jio Infocomm. In fact, the public issue was originally expected to be completed in the first half of 2026, as announced earlier by Reliance Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani. However, global markets came under pressure following the attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel. With a peace agreement now in place and markets returning to normal, reports suggest that Reliance Industries may soon file the draft papers for the Jio IPO with SEBI. There is also speculation that this could happen before June 19, when Reliance Industries is scheduled to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM). Through the IPO, Reliance Jio is expected to raise nearly ₹38,000 crore from the market.
The issue is also set to become the largest IPO in India's history. At present, the country's biggest IPO is that of Hyundai Motor India, which entered the market in 2024 and raised ₹27,870 crore. It is followed by the IPO of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), which mobilized ₹21,008 crore. The Reliance Jio IPO is expected to surpass both these records. Market participants are eagerly waiting to see whether Mukesh Ambani will make any announcement regarding the Jio IPO and the company's future plans at the Reliance AGM scheduled for June 19. As is usually the case, the Reliance Industries AGM is an event that attracts significant attention from investors and market observers.
