AI Boom Boosts Nadella’s Pay Package

Companies that earn good profits give their employees increments and bonuses every year. But when you look at the salaries of CEOs of giant IT companies, they are truly eye-popping. Right now, the buzzword across the IT world is Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this field, Microsoft—one of the world’s top companies—has shown remarkable growth. As a result, the company’s board has decided to give a huge pay hike to its CEO, Satya Nadella. According to this decision, his total compensation for 2025 will amount to ₹846 crore in Indian currency. This was revealed by Microsoft in its latest regulatory filing.

Compared to last year’s (2024) compensation of ₹664 crore, this marks a 22% increase in his pay. With Microsoft performing strongly in the AI sector, the company’s shares have also seen major gains. In addition, Nadella has been awarded a cash incentive of ₹80 crore. Born and raised in Hyderabad, Satya Nadella joined Microsoft in 1992 and worked in various roles. In 2014, he was appointed CEO of Microsoft, the No. 1 IT company in the United States. Interestingly, in recent years, both Microsoft and Google—two of the world’s largest IT companies—have been led by Indian CEOs. Under their leadership, both companies have made tremendous progress, and naturally, their compensation packages reflect that success.
