Top Telugu Newspaper Editor's ₹43 Crore Land Deal Sparks Political Buzz in Andhra Pradesh

He is the editor of a prominent Telugu newspaper. There is widespread talk that he has set unprecedented records in wealth accumulation—records that no one else in the Telugu states has achieved so far. Not only has he amassed enormous wealth, but even after details of his assets have reportedly become public, he continues to enjoy his lifestyle without showing the slightest concern. His ability to flaunt luxury cars and display his stature even in front of the newspaper's management is often cited as evidence of his influence and confidence. What many find remarkable is that wherever he has worked, he has managed to maintain extremely close relationships with those in power. Employees at the newspaper are said to be astonished by his ability to cultivate such connections. According to sources within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the editor purchased between 90 and 100 acres of land in the Rajampet area near Tirupati in Chittoor district a few months ago, reportedly spending around ₹43 crore on the acquisition.

It is being alleged that many of these transactions were carried out through benami arrangements, while some properties were reportedly registered in the names of relatives. The issue has now become a major talking point in political and media circles. A TDP minister reportedly remarked that the editor's ability to maintain close ties with senior figures in the ruling party, irrespective of the newspaper he works for, reflects his unique political networking skills. According to the minister, the editor is said to manage many of his affairs indirectly through certain IAS officers. As a result, there is speculation that he has played a key role in ensuring that sensitive information related to some influential figures in the Andhra Pradesh government does not become public. Interestingly, such perceptions are said to be prevalent even among leaders of the ruling party. It is also being claimed that, not only in the erstwhile Kadapa district but across several parts of the Rayalaseema region, the editor has previously played a significant role in acquiring valuable land holdings.
