Trump Threatens 200% Tariffs on China Over Trade Disputes

In a way no other U.S. president has ever done in history, Donald Trump is openly threatening several countries around the world. Especially in matters of trade tariffs, he has been behaving as though everyone must listen to him in recent times. Among the countries that strongly countered Trump’s threats are China and Brazil. Now, once again targeting China, Donald Trump made sensational remarks. He said, “I want good relations with China… but if they try to compete with us, then China’s destruction will be inevitable.” He added that America’s dominance in the world is greater than China’s at present. “China has a few cards, but America has stronger cards than those. If we begin to use them, China will be destroyed,” he warned.
However, he also stated that he does not want to play with those cards. He said that in the ongoing trade disputes, Washington is stronger than Beijing. Announcing that he will visit China at the end of this year, Trump said there will be good relations between the two countries. He insisted that China must continue supplying magnets required for the automobile and defense sectors. Otherwise, he threatened to impose 200 percent tariffs on China, saying that it would not cause any problems for America. It is well known that Donald Trump has been acting similarly with India. Initially, he imposed 25 percent tariffs and later, citing India’s purchase of oil from Russia, he slapped another 25 percent tariffs. With this, the total tariffs reached 50 percent. America also officially notified that these will come into effect from Wednesday. Looking at Trump’s stance, it does not appear that he intends to step back on the issue of India either.
On the other hand, Donald Trump issued a stern warning to countries that impose digital taxes on U.S. tech companies. He threatened to impose restrictions on computer chip exports from America to those countries. To this effect, he made a post on his social media platform Truth. He said, “We will stand up against countries that attack American tech companies. Digital taxes, digital service laws, digital market regulations — all these have been prepared to discriminate against American companies. But these countries are not creating any obstacles for Chinese companies. This behavior must come to an end. I am alerting such nations. American companies are not your doormats. Give proper respect to America and American companies, or else the consequences will be severe,” Trump lashed out at the world nations.
