SIT Notice to KCR in Phone Tapping Probe

The investigation into the illegal phone tapping case that took place during the BRS regime in Telangana appears to have reached its climax. It is already known that in this very case, the SIT has questioned key BRS leaders including KTR, Harish Rao, and former MP Santosh Rao. The telephone tapping carried out during the BRS regime created a huge sensation across the country. There are allegations that this tapping was mainly used to target political opponents. Allegations have also surfaced that along with the phones of opposition party leaders, the phones of some judges and media heads were also tapped. A case has been registered on this issue as well. With the questioning of key leaders already completed in this matter, the stage is now set for the final questioning of BRS chief and former Chief Minister KCR.
For this purpose, SIT officials issued notices to former CM KCR on Thursday. The notices were served at his residence in Nandi Nagar, Hyderabad. The notice stated that he should appear for questioning on January 30, Friday. However, considering KCR’s age, it was mentioned that the inquiry can be conducted at any place of his choice, but the suitable location should be informed in advance to the investigating officer. SIT officials have already questioned T. Prabhakar Rao, who served as the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) chief during the BRS regime, on multiple occasions and recorded his statements. After the SIT questions KCR, there is now widespread interest over what the next steps of the Revanth Reddy government will be in this case.
