Jagan’s Palnadu Visit Sparks Fresh Controversy Over Provocative Posters

Jagan’s Palnadu Visit Sparks Fresh Controversy Over Provocative Posters

When in power, they intimidated everyone. That’s exactly why the YSRCP lost so terribly in the recent elections. More people voted not for Chandrababu's promises, but against Jagan’s rule. Still, even after moving into the opposition without official status, it appears that YSRCP continues to follow the same model. Looking at YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy’s last two tours, even the party leaders are debating whether the YSRCP is trying to get closer to the people or move even further away. Leaders within YSRCP themselves are commenting that if this trend continues in the coming days, political troubles will deepen further. If the ruling party makes mistakes, they must be highlighted and brought strongly to the public. That is what any political party is supposed to do. But the actions of Jagan Mohan Reddy and the YSRCP in recent times have become a serious topic of discussion. A few days ago, Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Tenali to console people with criminal backgrounds and faced heavy criticism. His visit to Rentapalla in Palnadu district on Wednesday too has sparked a new controversy.

Posters displayed publicly by some YSRCP cadre during Jagan's tour are creating a huge uproar. Placards were displayed with slogans like: "In the 2029 elections, as soon as YSRCP comes to power, we will chop heads like in the Gangamma Thalli Jathara. We will implement the Raja Reddy Constitution starting from Palnadu. Whoever dares to come, we’ll crush them. Brother will come. He will end it." Not just these — there were also slogans filled with ghostly and violent imagery. People who saw these are commenting, "What kind of message is Jagan Mohan Reddy trying to send to the public?"

Anywhere else, the opposition tries to corner the ruling party, but Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be setting records as a leader who scores self-goals during every tour. A senior YSRCP leader remarked this. However, it is well known that no one in YSRCP dares to tell Jagan that this is wrong. In recent times, huge crowds have been attending Jagan’s tours. That’s why even the government imposed several restrictions on his latest visit. Ignoring police restrictions, a large number of people came to Jagan’s event. But due to these controversial placards, the entire event seems to have been overshadowed — this is the opinion even among YSRCP leaders.
