A new twist has now emerged in the matter of the ₹11 crores recovered from a farmhouse near Shamshabad in connection with the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam. It is known that SIT officials seized this amount based on information provided by Varun Purushottam, who is A40 in this scam. SIT officials identified and seized the amount hidden in boxes at that location in June 2024, under the directions of Chanakya and along with Raj Kesireddy, who is being called the kingpin of the AP liquor scam. This incident created a major sensation. The fact that all liquor sales in AP during Jagan’s tenure happened only in cash and that ₹11 crores in cash related to this scam were found has become a key aspect of this case.

This becomes very crucial to the case. At this juncture, Raj Kesireddy, who was arrested in the liquor scam and is now in jail, has filed an affidavit in the ACB court regarding this matter. He stated that he has no connection with the ₹11 crores that the SIT claims to have seized. He alleged that such narratives are being brought to the forefront only to deny him bail. He said that the farmhouse belongs to Teegal Vijeyender Reddy, who owns engineering colleges, hospitals, and other businesses.

He mentioned that Vijeyender Reddy conducts transactions with turnover running into crores and that his (Raj Kesireddy’s) wife is only a minor shareholder in Aret Hospital owned by Vijeyender Reddy. He stated in his affidavit that apart from that, he has no relation with Vijeyender Reddy. But so far everything seemed fine—then how did Varun Purushottam, who is A40 in the AP liquor scam, come to know that ₹11 crores in cash were hidden in boxes at a farmhouse somewhere near Shamshabad? How was he able to tell this to the SIT officials? That has now become the key question. Now, the main point of public curiosity is about how thoroughly and strategically the SIT will handle this entire matter.
