Lokesh’s ‘NaMo’ Remark Sparks Political Buzz!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh have been behaving completely differently toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi compared to the past. There are several reasons behind this change. At times, even Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders are surprised by their words of praise for Modi. The same leaders who once harshly criticized Modi, questioning what he had done for the country, are now speaking as if having Modi as Prime Minister is a blessing for the nation. They are saying that “India has the right leader at the right time.” As everyone knows, the BJP did not get a full majority in the recent elections. Because of this, the parties led by Nitish Kumar (JD(U)) and Chandrababu Naidu (TDP) have become very crucial in the NDA government. Despite this, CM Chandrababu Naidu has been treading cautiously in his dealings with the Centre — especially when it comes to Modi.
Recently, remarks made by Andhra Pradesh Minister and TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh about Narendra Modi have become a hot topic. Modi has long been called “NaMo,” derived from the first letters of his name. The media also commonly uses the word “NaMo.” But now, Nara Lokesh has given a new meaning to “NaMo.” He said, “NaMo doesn’t just mean Narendra Modi… it stands for Naidu–Modi partnership.” Speaking to the media in Delhi on Wednesday, Lokesh made these comments while discussing the upcoming Partnership Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15. He said the main reason industries are now coming to Andhra Pradesh in large numbers is the ecosystem developed under Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership and the strong relationships established with investors.
He emphasized that providing rapid infrastructure and facilities is crucial for attracting investments. The Andhra Pradesh government has set a target to secure large-scale investments through the Partnership Summit. At the same time, Lokesh revealed on social media that a prominent company that had earlier left the state is set to announce a new investment on Thursday. Lokesh’s new definition of “NaMo” is likely to stir controversy. The main reason is that while “NaMo” originally refers to Narendra Modi, Lokesh’s statement — suggesting that it now stands for the Naidu–Modi duo — is creating quite a political buzz.
