KTR Family Owns Star Hotels in Hyderabad? Here’s What Records Show!

KTR’s wife is a director in the company
Over the past few days, the land and property affairs of key BRS leaders in Telangana have become a major topic of discussion. The main reason for this is the statement made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on the floor of the Telangana Assembly. Revanth Reddy had alleged that KCR’s family members, along with other leaders, acquired lands illegally by using Dharani as a means. He subsequently ordered an inquiry into the matter. On Wednesday, during his visit to Sircilla, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made another allegation, calling it “Part 2” of what he had said in the Assembly. He alleged that the KTR family owns star hotels in and around Hyderabad’s Hi-Tech City and challenged them to clarify whether this was true or not. He also alleged that KTR has investments not only in the state but also in the United States and Singapore.
However, inquiries into the hotels in Hyderabad show that they are officially in the name of a company in which KTR’s family members are directors. Deccan Serai Hi-Tech City (Deccan Serai), located in the Hi-Tech City area, and Deccan Serai Grand Hotel in Gachibowli are among them. Premium service apartments are also operating under the same brand. All these properties are in the name of At Home Hospitality Services Private Limited. The current directors of the company are KTR’s wife, Shailima Kalvakuntla, along with Sridhar Telukuntla and Pattabhirama Rao Chilukuri. BRS Working President and former minister KTR served as a director of At Home Hospitality Services Private Limited from October 25, 2005, to October 2014. Earlier, J. Santosh Rao also served as a director of the company. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent statement that KTR’s family members own star hotels in Hyderabad, and the confirmation that the claim is indeed true, has assumed significance. Revanth Reddy had criticised KTR at the Sircilla meeting, asking where these star hotels came from when KTR claims that he does not even have a proper house to stay in Hyderabad.
On the one hand, Revanth Reddy is making details of the KCR family’s assets public, while on the other hand, the BRS is also criticising Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging that his brothers are acquiring large tracts of land. Apart from making allegations that they illegally amassed assets worth Rs. 1 lakh crore by misusing their power, there are no instances so far of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy taking action on any of these matters. As a result, it appears that the entire issue is being used as a political game. Congress leaders say that more details of assets belonging to the KCR family are likely to come out in the coming days.
