AP Govt Grants 15.25 Acres to February-Incorporated Firm

Strangely enough, it is only after Chandrababu Naidu became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh that new companies are suddenly springing up. These companies are securing multi-thousand-crore projects in the state. For example, Chinta Green Energy. The way it was incorporated and then managed to bag thousands of crores worth of projects in Andhra Pradesh is surprising. Even though the promoters have been involved in various businesses for a long time, IAS officials themselves are shocked at the way these allocations are being done in AP. Similarly, Ursa Clusters was another company that suddenly emerged with the aim of acquiring hundreds of crores worth of land in Vizag. After controversy erupted, that company’s name is no longer heard anywhere. Now, yet another such company has come to light. This company also came into existence recently. That is Meglan Leisures and Entertainment LLP. This company was incorporated only in February 2025. Another strange thing is that this company, born in February, submitted proposals to the government in May. Immediately, on June 19, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chandrababu, the SIPB meeting approved the proposal.
The most shocking part is that the director of this company is a close aide of a former YSRCP MP. This powerful ex-MP has links with all political parties. At one point, this leader used to stay at the promoter’s Thimmapuram farmhouse on Bheemili Beach Road. Not only that, sources within the TDP claim that one of the directors who now bagged a new project in AP was also a partner in the highly controversial Dasapalla land development agreement. Now that the government has changed in Andhra Pradesh and many contracts are being altered or reassessed, this particular land allotment has become a hot topic in political circles. The current directors of this company are Umesh Kunapareddy and Lakshmi Kunapureddy. On Thursday, the government issued orders permitting the company to be allotted 15.25 acres of land next to the Polavaram irrigation project to set up a 5-star luxury resort.
Initially, the land will be leased for 66 years, with an option to extend it for another 33 years. The company must pay 1% of the sub-registrar value and 1% of gross revenue as additional development premium. It has been stated that the company will invest ₹255 crore and provide employment to 350 people. Under the tourism policy, 100% SGST exemption and other incentives will be provided. At a time when the coalition government is already facing criticism for continuing associations with companies favored during Jagan’s tenure, the allotment of this strategically located land near the Polavaram project to a company closely linked to a former YSRCP MP has become a hot topic in Andhra Pradesh politics.
