BRS Leaders Fear More Explosive Revelations from Kavitha

BRS Leaders Fear More Explosive Revelations from Kavitha
X

On one side, the Revanth government has ordered a CBI inquiry into the Kaleshwaram project. On the other side, Kavitha has been suspended from the BRS. Though the BRS leaders got some relief in the Telangana High Court regarding the Kaleshwaram inquiry, they are saying this is only temporary. It is known that KCR’s daughter Kavitha said that the “corruption anacondas” in the Kaleshwaram project were former minister Harish Rao, former MP Santosh Rao, and Megha Krishna Reddy. Because of this blow, the BRS leaders who had been repeatedly questioning where exactly corruption took place in Kaleshwaram have suddenly found themselves in an uncomfortable situation. Since it was KCR’s own daughter who said this, there is fear among the party leaders that this message will strongly reach the public. That is one concern, but another fear haunting the leaders is how many more new revelations Kavitha might make in the coming days. Kavitha is expected to respond on Wednesday regarding her suspension from the BRS. There is speculation that she may resign not only from the MLC post that she got through the party but also from the party membership itself, and announce her future course of action.

Another key point here is that when Kavitha faced allegations in the Delhi liquor scam, was arrested, and went to jail, BRS chief KCR did not take any action against her. But now, when she pointed out that the main role in the Kaleshwaram corruption belonged to former minister Harish Rao and former MP Santosh Rao, KCR taking action against her might send a wrong signal to the public—this is being discussed among party leaders. There is also talk that just as the BRS once cornered the Congress when in power, the BRS is now facing the same situation in Telangana. Along with Kaleshwaram, if more investigations come to the surface in the coming days, and if Kavitha continues to reveal more sensational matters in a similar way, the party could face an even more difficult atmosphere ahead—this is the fear haunting the BRS leaders. If, as requested by the Telangana government, the CBI steps in and begins investigation into Kaleshwaram, not only former CM KCR but also former minister Harish Rao will have to face inquiry. However, the crucial point now is which direction the BJP government at the Centre will take this case.
