The schedule for the crucial Bihar Assembly elections has been released. The Bihar Assembly, with 243 seats, will hold elections in two phases. The first phase will take place on November 6, and the second phase will be held on November 11. The counting of votes will be conducted on November 14. In the first phase, elections will be held in 121 constituencies, and in the second phase, elections will be conducted in 122 constituencies. The election notifications for the first phase will be issued on October 10, and for the second phase, they will be issued on October 13. The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the Bihar elections on Monday. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with other election commissioners, announced the Bihar election schedule.

There are a total of 7.43 crore voters in the state, and 90,712 polling stations will be set up. Webcasting will be available at every polling station. The current term of the Bihar Assembly is set to end on November 22. The final voter list was announced on August 1, taking objections into account. The CEC also stated that there is still an opportunity for corrections in the voter list. It has been suggested that changes can be made to the voter list up to 10 days before nominations. The CEC also stated that arrangements are being made for a peaceful election, and this time the election process will be further simplified.

The ruling NDA alliance in Bihar is striving to return to power. However, there are reports indicating that the political climate may not be very favorable for the alliance. To attract female voters, the alliance transferred ₹10,000 in cash to their accounts before the election. On the other hand, the UPA alliance is also making serious efforts to come to power in Bihar. The alliance includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and several other partner parties. The ruling NDA consists of JD(U), BJP, and Ram Vilas Paswan's LJP. However, even with the election schedule announced, seat adjustments between the two alliances have not yet been finalized. The comprehensive revision of the voter list undertaken by the Election Commission in Bihar before the assembly elections has caused quite a stir. For the first time in these elections, the color photographs of candidates will be printed on the EVMs.
