AP Ministers’ Special Flight Use Raises Questions Over Expenses?!

The Andhra Pradesh government is sinking deeper into a debt trap. The government is in a situation where it cannot move forward without borrowing money every month. It remains unclear whether the wealth creation repeatedly talked about by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is actually taking place. However, IAS officers say that the wealth of some ministers is increasing dramatically. Whatever the situation may be with wealth creation, Chandrababu Naidu is also moving ahead by exploring new ways to create debt. Since the coalition government came to power in the state, there have been numerous reports about Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and another minister, Nara Lokesh, frequently travelling on special flights. The Chief Minister has the provision to travel on special flights. However, this time, it is being said that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, along with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's son and minister Nara Lokesh, have also made extensive use of special flights.
However, details about who paid for these flights and whether the trips were official or unofficial have not come to light. Leaving these three aside, highly reliable sources have revealed that two other ministers handling key portfolios in the Andhra Pradesh government have also been frequently using special flights for some time. One of them is a minister who is alleged to be in the top position in terms of corruption within the Andhra Pradesh government, while the other heads a powerful department. TDP sources also say that neither of these two ministers is willing to step away from the special-flight lifestyle.
There have also been reports for some time that corruption involving both ministers in their respective departments is taking on new dimensions. It would be understandable if the government arranged special flights for emergencies. However, the fact that these ministers are now using special flights wherever they go has become a major topic of discussion even among TDP leaders. Officials say that the number of people using special flights in the Andhra Pradesh government has increased from three in the past to five now. There is also growing discussion about how much alleged ill-gotten wealth must be accumulated for them to be able to travel on special flights in this manner.
