Vishwanath & Sons Review: How Is Venky Atluri’s New Film?
The film Vishwanath & Sons stars Suriya and Mamitha Baiju as the lead pair. Expectations were high for the movie because it is directed by Venky Atluri. This is because Venky Atluri’s Lucky Baskhar was a major hit at the box office. The teaser and trailer of Vishwanath & Sons also indicated that the film would be a clean entertainer. At the same time, the teaser and trailer gave considerable clarity about how the story was going to unfold. Amid high expectations, Vishwanath & Sons hit the screens on Friday. There is a significant age gap between the hero and heroine in real life as well as in the film. Why does the heroine want to marry the hero despite such a huge age gap? How and why did the heroine, who is studying medicine somewhere abroad, enter the family of the hero, who is an industrialist? Will the hero, who has no positive opinion about the institution of marriage, finally agree to get married or not? This forms the story of Vishwanath & Sons.
Along with hero Suriya, heroine Mamitha Baiju also impresses with her performance in the film. Mamitha Baiju’s performance is particularly impressive in the first half. Coming to Suriya, he showcases his ability not only in action sequences with his stylish look as an industrialist but also in emotional scenes. Radhika plays a key role as the hero’s mother in the film. Mamitha Baiju entertains as a mischievous girl on one hand and also proves herself in the emotional scenes. Director Venky Atluri appears to have made this film entirely targeting family audiences. Some of the dialogues are also appealing. The first half of Vishwanath & Sons moves along with good energy. However, the second half feels somewhat slow. The background score provided by G.V. Prakash is good. From the beginning to the end, the film maintains a rich look without compromising anywhere, in line with the story. Nassar, Raveena Tandon, Raghu Babu, Aadi and Sarvadaman Banerjee have played other key roles in the film. Taken individually, Vishwanath & Sons can be said to have been well directed by Venky Atluri. However, when compared with his previous film Lucky Baskhar, the way the story has been handled in this film does not appear to be as perfect.
