Why Mythri Movie Makers Silent on Ustaad Bhagat Singh Collections?

Mythri Movie Makers, one of the leading production houses in Tollywood known for producing big-budget films, is now at the center of a hot discussion. The reason—why hasn’t the production house revealed the box office collections of Ustaad Bhagat Singh, the Ustaad Bhagat Singh released during Ugadi? This has now become a trending topic in Tollywood circles. Directed by Harish Shankar, the film features Pawan Kalyan in the lead, with Sreeleela and Raashi Khanna as the female leads. Released amid huge expectations, the film has reportedly failed to live up to audience hopes. Not just general viewers, even Pawan Kalyan’s fans are said to be unimpressed. Reflecting this response, Mythri Movie Makers has not released even a single-day collections poster so far. This has led to speculation within Tollywood that the production house itself is not satisfied with the film’s performance. In contrast, the production house DVV Entertainment had consistently shared box office updates for Pawan Kalyan’s previous film, OG.
That movie went on to become the highest-grossing film in his career, with official announcements stating it collected around ₹300 crore gross worldwide. However, despite the massive hype around Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Mythri Movie Makers has remained completely silent on its collections. The film, which released worldwide on March 19, is said to have earned ₹72 crore gross globally in its first three days, according to Tollywood sources. What’s more surprising is that even on a Sunday, several theatres in Hyderabad reportedly had empty seats. Industry insiders say this itself reflects the film’s performance. Going by the current trend, there is growing talk that the film may struggle to even cross the ₹100 crore gross mark by the end of its theatrical run. Originally, the pan-India film Toxic was scheduled for release on March 19. However, after its postponement, the makers of Ustaad Bhagat Singh advanced their release to that date. Despite this strategic move, it now appears to have offered little advantage.
