Three Heroes. It has been a long time since these three have had a proper hit. Everyone knows that Manchu Manoj has been away from films for a few years. Bellamkonda Srinivas appears on the silver screen now and then, but hits have continued to elude him. Though Nara Rohith did a political film in between, he returned to the silver screen after a long gap. The film Bhairavam, starring Manchu Manoj, Bellamkonda Srinivas, and Nara Rohith together, released this Friday amid high expectations. Bhairavam is a remake of the Tamil film Garudan. In this film, Aditi Shankar is paired opposite Bellamkonda Srinivas, Anandhi opposite Manchu Manoj, and Divya Pillai plays Nara Rohith’s wife.

Coming to the story: a minister sets his eyes on a sacred land belonging to the deity—land that no one had paid attention to until then. As the land is worth a whopping thousand crores, the minister tries to use all his power to acquire it. However, Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohith stand as protectors of this land and the jewelry of the deity. The film revolves around why differences arise between the close friends Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohith over this divine land... and whether the minister ultimately succeeds in grabbing the land.

Bellamkonda Srinivas, who plays an orphan, lives with them like a family member. Director Vijay Kanakamedala succeeded in building hype for Bhairavam but fell short in delivering an engaging film. Stories revolving around temple lands and jewelry have been done in many previous films, so this plot felt lacking in novelty or substance. However, Manchu Manoj, Bellamkonda Srinivas, and Nara Rohith did full justice to their roles and showcased their acting prowess. In the second half, Bellamkonda Srinivas's action sequences manage to impress the audience at several points. However, the love track between Bellamkonda and Aditi Shankar didn’t quite work out.

Vennela Kishore’s role is limited, but he manages to evoke some laughter through his linguistic flair. Although all three heroes delivered powerful performances in their respective roles, the lack of depth in the story made the film less impactful overall. The action scenes are on another level. Every time Bellamkonda Srinivas places the vermilion mark on his forehead and enters a rage, those scenes become highlights of the film. Those who enjoy full-fledged action films will like this one. That said, through their performances in Bhairavam, these three heroes might land good roles in the future.
