As Pawan Kalyan's movie OG was set to release in just a few hours, the Telangana High Court delivered a shock to the film. The court issued a stay order on the memo issued by the government regarding the increase in ticket prices in Telangana. Movie fans across the state had already purchased tickets for special shows, with each ticket priced at ₹800. It’s not an exaggeration to say that there is not a single empty seat in any theater in Hyderabad. In this context, the Telangana High Court’s order can be considered a significant setback for the OG movie. Directed by Sujeeth, the movie is set to release worldwide on Thursday. In both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the government had granted permission for special shows and approved an increase in ticket prices. However, the Telangana High Court suspended the order regarding the price hike. Justice N. V. Shravan Kumar issued the order.

There is now ongoing discussion about how this order could potentially impact the movie's collections. So far, the special shows and first-day screenings in all theaters in Hyderabad have been fully booked. Mahesh Yadav, a person from the city, had challenged the ticket price hike in court. The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that the Home Department Special Chief Secretary has no authority regarding ticket price hikes and that only the Police Commissioner in Hyderabad and the Joint Collectors in the districts have the authority to issue memos. As a result, the court placed a brake on the ticket price hike order and postponed the next hearing of the case to October 9.
