‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ Ticket Hike Gets Legal Relief

It is known that the film Ustaad Bhagat Singh, in which Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is playing the lead role, will be released worldwide on March 19. However, there are doubts in industry circles about whether there will be an increase in ticket prices for this film or not. The main reason for this is the orders given by the Telangana High Court a few days ago. While criticizing the Telangana government’s policy regarding the increase in cinema ticket prices, the court made strong remarks. At the same time, it ordered that henceforth orders for ticket price hikes should be issued only if an application is submitted 90 days before the release. On this issue, the leading production house Mythri Movie Makers approached the Supreme Court of India. The same company has also produced the film Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan.
Hearing the petition filed by Mythri Movie Makers on Friday, the Supreme Court of India stayed the High Court’s orders. For now, it allowed the authorities to proceed with the usual policy that has been followed so far regarding ticket price hikes. With the court’s orders, the path has been cleared for increasing the ticket prices of Pawan Kalyan’s new film Ustaad Bhagat Singh. With this, it is certain that audiences in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will have to bear an additional burden. It is known that, along with premieres, there will be a facility to collect additional ticket rates for about a week to ten days, as was done in the past. The latest orders given by the Supreme Court of India will apply not only to Pawan Kalyan’s film but also to all newly released films.
