Five Big Telugu Films Set for a High-Voltage Sankranti Box Office Clash
X

Not one… not two. This Sankranti, as many as five films are set to create a buzz at the Tollywood box office. Usually, expectations are high only for a few films, and there are many reasons for that — the hero’s previous films, the director’s track record, the production house. All these are influencing factors. But interestingly, among the five films competing this Sankranti, all five are steadily building expectations without any drop. The songs and teasers released so far have only increased expectations for the respective films and have not raised any doubts at all. As a result, there is a discussion that this Sankranti race has become extremely interesting in a way never seen before. Even Tollywood circles are in a situation where they cannot openly take a side and say that only one particular film looks good. Leading the Sankranti festivities is pan-India hero Prabhas’ film Raja Saab. Compared to his recent action films, Prabhas will be seen in a vintage look in this film and will be entertaining audiences for the first time in a horror-comedy movie. This is also director Maruthi’s first big-budget film. The songs and teaser of Raja Saab released so far have increased the craze for the film. While Raja Saab is releasing on January 9, after that, on January 12, megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankaravaraprasad Garu is set to hit the screens.

This film too has created good buzz. The reason is that it is directed by Anil Ravipudi, who achieved a massive gross collection of 300 crores with Sankranthi Ki Vastunnam, starring Venkatesh, released this year for Sankranti. From the time the film was announced, director Anil Ravipudi has successfully promoted it without letting the buzz drop at any point. It is known that Venkatesh will be seen in a guest role in this film. On January 13, another film, Bhartha Mahashayulaku Vignapthi, starring senior hero Ravi Teja and directed by Kishore Tirumala, is set for release. The teaser and songs released so far have also raised expectations for this film. Especially, Ravi Teja will be seen in a completely new look, different from his recent films. Then on January 14, the festival day, two films are releasing on the same day — one in the morning and the other in the evening.

On January 14, Anaganaga Oka Raju, starring Naveen Polishetty and Meenakshi Chaudhary, is set to release. The two songs from the film released so far have filled audiences with great enthusiasm. The promotions being done by hero Naveen Polishetty have taken expectations for this film to another level. There is a discussion in Tollywood circles that Naveen Polishetty seems to have succeeded in making all eyes turn towards him. On the festival evening, Naari Naari Naduma Murari, starring Sharwanand, is releasing. This is perhaps the first film to officially announce that it will begin its release directly with evening shows instead of premiere shows. Thus, all five films in the Sankranti race are strong in terms of content and are confident about success. To know who the real winner of Sankranti 2026 is, one will have to wait until January 14. Only after that will the real numbers come out.
