The much-awaited film "Peddi," starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, has made a sensational start at the box office. The film’s production team officially announced that it collected a worldwide gross of ₹135.36 crore on its opening day. This figure includes the revenue generated from the premiere shows screened on the night of June 3. It may be recalled that ticket prices for the premiere shows in the Telugu states were fixed at ₹600 per ticket. Celebrating the film’s strong opening, the makers released a poster highlighting the first-day collections and hailed the movie as a “Box Office Champion.” One of the biggest highlights of Peddi has been Ram Charan’s powerful performance and action sequences, which have received an overwhelmingly positive response from audiences across different sections.

While the overall film has drawn mixed reviews, Ram Charan’s performance has been widely appreciated and emerged as a major talking point. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead opposite Ram Charan. However, much like in several recent Telugu films, Janhvi’s character has been criticized for lacking significant importance to the storyline. Additionally, her glamorous portrayal in the film has attracted criticism from some sections of the audience. The director has attempted to weave together a village-centric issue and a sports-based narrative, and many viewers feel he has handled the storyline effectively for the most part. At the same time, several critics and moviegoers believe that the film could have delivered an even better result if its runtime had been shorter.

The film is also performing well in overseas markets, contributing significantly to its impressive opening collections. According to Tollywood trade circles, the strong momentum is expected to continue through Sunday. However, the real test will begin from June 8 (Monday), when the weekday box-office trend and advance bookings will indicate the film’s long-term prospects. Compared to his previous release "Game Changer," Peddi appears to have put Ram Charan back on track, reinforcing his box-office strength and reconnecting him with audiences.
