Rajamouli’s SSMB 29 First Look Faces Social Media Trolling

It is well known that a massive buzz has already been created around the movie SSMB 29, directed by Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu. A mega event related to the film was planned for November 15 at Ramoji Film City. However, in a completely unexpected move, director Rajamouli on Friday released the first look of popular Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is playing the villain in the film. Using the hashtag #GlobeTrotter, Rajamouli revealed that Prithviraj will be seen as a character named Kumbha in the movie. As soon as this photo was released, social media trolling began immediately. Netizens started comparing it with stills from other movies and pointing out similarities.
The main comparison came from a still in Suriya’s film “24”, with users trolling Rajamouli and questioning, “What’s new in this?” While Prithviraj’s still looks impressive when viewed individually, the overall first look of the movie reminds many people of visuals from various films — and even of famous theoretical physicist Stephen William Hawking. However, the fact that the first look from the Rajamouli–Mahesh Babu movie faced such trolling right after release has not gone down well with Mahesh Babu’s fans, who are clearly unhappy with the criticism.
