As is well known, director Buchi Babu recently apologized following widespread criticism over the way Janhvi Kapoor's character was portrayed in the film. Reacting to the controversy, actor Jagapathi Babu, who played the role of Appala Suri in "Peddi," came out in support of Janhvi Kapoor. He stated that the actress merely performed the role as directed and that trolling her was unfair. Jagapathi Babu also spoke about the recognition received by his own character in the film. He said that he felt his role had not received the level of appreciation it deserved. "I have never asked for recognition in any of my previous films, but I believe I have every right to seek proper recognition for my work in this movie," he said. The veteran actor revealed that he had conveyed the same concern to director Buchi Babu. He made these remarks during a recent interview.
