Peddi Becomes Ram Charan's Highest-Grossing Film

Peddi Becomes Ram Charans Highest-Grossing Film
X

"Peddi" has emerged as the highest-grossing film in Ram Charan's career. The movie has collected a gross of ₹292.5 crore worldwide within just four days of its release. The film has now become the biggest box-office success among all the movies Ram Charan has headlined as a solo lead actor. Trade analysts expect the collections to rise further by the end of the first week. Although bookings witnessed a slight dip on Monday, the film is expected to maintain its momentum for several more days. One of the major advantages for "Peddi" is the lack of any major releases competing at the box office in the immediate future. A significant factor behind the film's success has been the positive response to Ram Charan's performance. At the same time, industry circles believe that the controversy surrounding actress Janhvi Kapoor's character in the film has also contributed to the movie's visibility and publicity.

As is well known, director Buchi Babu recently apologized following widespread criticism over the way Janhvi Kapoor's character was portrayed in the film. He also announced that certain scenes would be removed in response to the backlash. Reacting to the controversy, actor Jagapathi Babu, who played the role of Appala Suri in "Peddi," came out in support of Janhvi Kapoor. He stated that the actress merely performed the role as directed and that trolling her was unfair. Jagapathi Babu also spoke about the recognition received by his own character in the film. He said that he felt his role had not received the level of appreciation it deserved. "I have never asked for recognition in any of my previous films, but I believe I have every right to seek proper recognition for my work in this movie," he said. The veteran actor revealed that he had conveyed the same concern to director Buchi Babu. He made these remarks during a recent interview.
