Pawan Kalyan’s OG Sets New Record: Highest-Grossing Film in His Career

Pawan Kalyan has set a new record with the movie OG. It has become the highest-grossing film in his career. Released worldwide on September 25 amidst huge expectations, the film has earned a gross of 230 crore rupees in just four days. On the first day, the movie grossed 154 crore rupees worldwide, as revealed by the film production company DVV Entertainment. However, the company did not officially share any further details about the box office earnings after the first day. While the collections dropped on the second day, OG performed well over the weekend, i.e., Saturday and Sunday. However, like any film, the true measure of its success is determined by Monday's box office performance. In the Hyderabad market, it should be noted that all theatres were largely empty by Monday. In some places, evening shows had some bookings, but overall, it wasn’t much.
This is the first film starring Pawan Kalyan to cross the 200 crore mark. According to Tollywood sources, the movie's collections reached 230 crore rupees over the weekend. Looking at the current trend, there is a high chance that the collections will gradually decline in the coming days. The highest earnings for OG have come from the Telugu states as well as North America. However, Pawan Kalyan's dream of taking the film to a pan-India level hasn’t been fully realized. This is because OG didn’t perform well in the Hindi market. Directed by Sujeeth, the movie attracted a lot of fans, but it lacked elements that appealed to other audiences, which turned out to be a drawback. The film mainly focused on showcasing Pawan Kalyan in a stylish way with emphasis on elevation scenes, and Thaman’s background music gave the movie a certain edge. Overall, after Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Pawan Kalyan has set a new record for the highest-grossing film in his career with OG, and his fans are definitely in full excitement.
