Kichcha Sudeep as Sri Krishnadevaraya! ‘Devaraya’ Film Announced

Historical films have been delivering strong results at the box office. As a result, filmmakers have been investing heavily in this genre over the past few years. Movies made with compelling stories are also managing to generate impressive collections. Now, another big-budget historical film is all set to hit the screens. A film based on the life of the legendary emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya, who ruled the Vijayanagara Empire, is set to come before audiences. On the occasion of Kannada star hero Kichcha Sudeep’s birthday, the film’s team surprised his fans with a special announcement.

The makers officially revealed that Sudeep will be playing the role of Sri Krishnadevaraya, the emperor who showcased the grandeur and glory of the Vijayanagara Empire to the world. Titled ‘Devaraya’, this powerful Pan-India project is being jointly produced by People Media Factory and Supriyanvi Pictures Studio. Gaur Hari is composing the music for the film. The periodical visual extravaganza, which is being made on a massive budget, is scheduled to release worldwide in theatres in December 2027. Details about the other actors who will be part of the film are expected to be announced soon.
