Akhanda 2: From Theatres to OTT in a Month

Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu’s combination film Akhanda 2: Tandavam was released worldwide on December 12, as is well known. This movie has already achieved worldwide gross collections of ₹150 crore. Of this, India alone contributed ₹120 crore in gross collections, while the overseas market added another ₹30 crore, taking the total gross to ₹150 crore, according to Tollywood sources. Compared to Akhanda, there were huge expectations for Akhanda 2. However, the opinion among many is that the film could not live up to the increased expectations. Added to this, there is also a view that the controversy that arose at the time of the film’s release affected its collections.

Overall, after completing its theatrical run, Akhanda 2: Tandavam is now coming to OTT. The film will start streaming on the leading OTT platform Netflix from January 9. Netflix has officially announced this. In Akhanda 2, Samyuktha Menon played the female lead opposite Balakrishna, while Aadhi Pinisetty and Harshaali Malhotra appeared in other key roles. This is the first pan-India film acted in by Nandamuri Balakrishna. However, even though the film mainly focuses on Sanatana Dharma and Hindu Dharma, it could not make a significant impact in the Hindi market.
