Mithun Reddy Gets ED Notice a Day After Vijay Sai Reddy
X

First, it was Vijay Sai Reddy. The very next day, YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy. With the Enforcement Directorate issuing notices one after another in this manner, suspicions are arising even among YSRCP leaders that something significant is going to happen in this case. Over the past few days, the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam issue had completely gone silent. Even though the SIT constituted by the AP government completed its investigation, the fact that it did not even look towards those whose names were mentioned as key players led to intense discussions within the ruling TDP itself. Some TDP social media supporters also posted criticizing the government’s approach on this issue. Now, with the ED suddenly increasing the pace in this matter, discussions are underway on whether some crucial developments may take place.

In the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam, the ED has already issued notices to former YSRCP MP Y. Vijay Sai Reddy, who revealed key details in the case, directing him to appear before them on January 22. Now, ED notices have been issued to YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy to appear on the very next day, January 23. That is, calling MP Mithun Reddy on the day after questioning Vijay Sai Reddy has gained significance. In this same case, Mithun Reddy was earlier arrested, sent to jail, and later released on bail. The SIT has alleged that a portion of the liquor scam money directly went into companies belonging to Mithun Reddy’s family. TDP leaders have also made serious allegations on the same issue. From the beginning, there has been widespread talk that large-scale irregularities took place in the AP liquor scam through hawala and money laundering. Now, it appears that the ED is focusing primarily on these aspects. The government has also attached the assets of Raj Kasireddy, who played a key role in this scam.
