Bjp Mla Adinarayana Reddy’s Remarks Spark Coalition Row!

Update: 2026-02-08 12:55 GMT

Jammalamadugu BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy made controversial remarks against the coalition government. These comments gained greater significance as they were made in the presence of BJP Andhra Pradesh state president Madhav. Adinarayana Reddy made sensational statements, saying that without the BJP in the coalition, there would be neither the Telugu Desam Party nor the Jana Sena in the state. He openly asserted that the BJP itself is the main force, stating that everyone else comes only after them. During his speech, he said that Kalahasti Anand asked how the coalition government’s rule is. He recalled that when asked how NTR’s rule was in 1983, it was said that at that time it was very “Kamma-dominated.” He added that even now it is still the same and that this should change. He said it is a “Kamma situation,” and that among people of the same caste working together, opportunities should be given to those who work hard. He remarked that people would have understood what he meant by it being “Kamma-dominated.”

He further said that everyone should be together along with that, and that here it is not about castes or religions, but that the BJP alone is the main force. While Adinarayana Reddy was making these caste-related remarks, BJP president Madhav was seen sitting and smiling quietly. In the past, Jana Sena chief and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had also remarked that not only did they stand on their own, but they also supported and sustained the TDP, which has a forty-year history. Even then, there was no response from the ruling TDP at that time. Now, whether the TDP will respond to Adinarayana Reddy’s controversial remarks or once again ignore them as usual remains to be seen. Meanwhile, there is discussion that there may be a different agenda behind Adinarayana Reddy’s latest comments.

After the state bifurcation, Adinarayana Reddy won as an MLA for the first time from the YSRCP. Later, he joined the TDP and even secured a ministerial post. In the recent elections, he joined the BJP and was elected from the Jammalamadugu Assembly constituency on that party’s ticket. He has differences with some BJP leaders from the erstwhile Kadapa district as well as with some TDP leaders. These differences had escalated into a public controversy a few days ago. It is being discussed that since the coalition government did not extend him full support at that time, he has now made controversial remarks targeting Chandrababu’s caste.
