His slogan in the recent elections was also the same: Make America Great Again (MAGA). Now, he is claiming that by imposing tariffs on several countries, he will make America even more prosperous. In this context, the superpower has once again entered a shutdown. After six years, the U.S. is now facing a government shutdown. The shutdown became inevitable as the U.S. Congress did not clear the bills related to the usage of funds. As a result, employees in several key departments will have to work without pay, or they will be given unpaid leave.
During the shutdown, essential services will continue. These mainly include national security, emergency medical care, border security, disaster relief, air traffic control, and power grid management. However, these employees will also not receive any pay. They will be given leave if it's not urgent. It is hard to predict how long this shutdown will last. Previously, when Donald Trump was the President of the U.S., this lasted for 35 days. Similar to how in India, if the budget is not approved, employees won't get their salaries, and funds cannot be used for developmental programs, in the U.S., if Congress doesn't approve, there will be no flexibility to spend funds.
