The issue of star hotels allegedly belonging to former minister KTR’s family has suddenly become a hot topic in Telangana politics. The main reason for this is Chief Minister Revanth Reddy raising the issue at a meeting in Sircilla. It is known that former minister KTR recently said that his family does not even have a good house in Hyderabad where all of them can stay together. Revanth Reddy recently questioned where KTR’s family, which claims not to have a good house in Hyderabad, got star hotels worth hundreds of crores of rupees. He launched strong criticism, alleging that they had converted people’s votes into money and looted the state. Former minister KTR responded to this issue on Thursday. Speaking at a programme held at Telangana Bhavan, he clarified the matter concerning the hotels. He said that he had set up a hotel in 2006 with the money he had worked hard to earn in the United States. At that time, Rajasekhar Reddy was in power. He said that when he started one hotel in 2006, it became three hotels over a period of 20 years.

“If I had properly focused on them, I would have made them ten hotels. When I contested in 2009, I mentioned this in my election affidavit. Whatever Revanth Reddy was shouting about yesterday was already mentioned in my affidavit. He is presenting something that I had already stated in my affidavit as though some Columbus had discovered it again. Is it wrong to do business? I also have to provide food for my wife and children, right? Otherwise, people will ask what I am doing in politics. I am happy that Revanth Reddy gave free publicity to my hotels yesterday. “Unlike you, Revanth Reddy, I did not pounce on people and loot them. You were a painter of walls. You did not study. I studied. Everyone studies for a degree for three years. Revanth Reddy studied for a degree for eight years. “Our father always used to tell us to study well.

“I studied well and worked in the United States for six years. I earned some money and returned to India. I returned in September 2004 because of my job. When KCR resigned in 2006, I came and worked during the by-election. I came because losing in Karimnagar at that time would have caused difficulties for the Telangana movement. Unlike Revanth Reddy, I do not have the habit of pouncing on people and looting them. The situation is such that the Chief Minister throws mud, and we have to wash it off,” KTR said. Along with giving an explanation regarding the hotels, KTR also launched strong criticism against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

KTR questioned whether Revanth Reddy was ready for an inquiry by a Supreme Court judge into the assets of both their families. He said that they would continue to question Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on behalf of the people. “Are contracts in the state going to Ponguleti instead of BCs? They have also ruined the Kaleshwaram project. They have stopped Rythu Bima. Rahul Gandhi came and said, ‘I will give two lakh jobs; get two jobs removed.’ They are going around saying ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj.’ He is travelling around other states but does not have the courage to come here. “The day when the Congress leaders are stripped of their clothes and beaten is very near,” KTR warned.
