The TRS has been reborn in Telangana. Former Chief Minister KCR’s daughter, K. Kavitha, announced a new political party in Hyderabad on Saturday. While several names were being speculated for her party, she ultimately chose the name “Telangana Rashtra Sena,” which had been in circulation for some time. It is known that the party led by KCR was earlier called Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Later, with the aim of entering national politics, it was renamed Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Since then, the party under KCR’s leadership has faced a series of challenges. Kavitha officially unveiled the name “Telangana Rashtra Sena” at the party’s launch meeting. She stated that she is proud to have been part of the Telangana statehood movement. At the same time, she said she feels ashamed about certain aspects of the ten-year BRS rule and offered an apology for them.
Kavitha noted that Telangana Jagruti had served as a guiding light in the state. She alleged that during the BRS regime, society in Telangana lived under intense surveillance and that the party had lost its soul. She added that many of Telangana’s dreams remain unfulfilled and that the social balance in the state has gone off track. She expressed her desire to become a mother-like figure for the people of Telangana, saying that only a mother truly understands the pain of her child, which motivated her decision.
In a series of sharp remarks, Kavitha said that the KCR of the past is different from the KCR of today. She described him as a changed person, even calling him a “transformed” or “different” man. She alleged that he has fallen into the hands of opportunists and predators, and claimed that he never came out to support people during their hardships. She further criticized that while the state was facing issues, efforts were diverted towards building a national party by traveling to states like Gujarat, Bihar, and Punjab, calling it mere political drama.
