Indications suggest that key changes are likely to take place soon in the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office. Muddaada Ravichandra, who is currently serving as the Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, is likely to be appointed as the full-time TTD Executive Officer. It is known that he is presently holding the post of Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister while also handling the additional charge of TTD EO. This additional responsibility was assigned to him only recently. Soon, he is expected to be given full charge as the TTD EO. The crucial point here is that Vijayanand, who is currently serving as the Chief Secretary to the government, is set to retire by the end of this month. However, there is widespread speculation in IAS circles that he may be appointed as the Chief Minister’s Chief Advisor immediately after his retirement. Not only that, it is being said that while serving as the Chief Advisor, he may also be entrusted with full responsibility of the Power Department. There is also discussion that the IT Department may be given to him along with Power.
With this, it is being said that Chief Minister Chandrababu is considering this arrangement so that there would be no need to separately fill the post that Muddaada Ravichandra would vacate upon moving to the TTD EO position. There has been speculation from the beginning that Vijayanand would continue to be entrusted with the Power Department even after stepping down as Chief Secretary. In the changed circumstances now, reliable sources say it is clear that he may be appointed as the Chief Minister’s Chief Advisor and assigned responsibility for the Power Department. During the YSRCP regime, it is known that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had also appointed former Chief Secretary Ajay Kallam as his Chief Advisor.
Officials say that Sai Prasad, who is set to become the Chief Secretary after Vijayanand’s retirement, may continue in that post for about a year, after which he may be given the post of ERC Chairman or another key position. There is also discussion that Anil Kumar Singhal, who was removed from the post of TTD EO, may be given a new posting during this round of transfers. In fact, there was widespread speculation in IAS circles during the transfers that took place a few months ago that key changes would also be made in the CMO. However, due to various reasons, that did not materialize. Now, it is being said that Ravichandra’s full-time move as TTD EO is certain.
