Meanwhile, it has been identified that some YSRCP leaders benefited to the tune of crores of rupees from the tenders related to liquor transportation. As part of this, former minister Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao was also arrested a few days ago. Another key YSRCP leader was also supposed to be arrested in the same case, but the arrest was stopped at the last minute. It was identified that funds related to these transportation tenders were transferred into the bank accounts of family members of that leader. Despite this, the arrest being stopped has now become a hot topic in political circles. There is widespread discussion that, through such actions, people are not only taking shares of the scam money but are also gaining various other benefits.
“Looking at all this, the situation in the coalition government has reached a stage where, whatever we see, it is no ‘small’ story,” a senior minister commented. What is strange here is that the case will not be reopened even after the government changes in Andhra Pradesh—not after the next elections, but even in the elections after that. The reason is that the scam took place during the YSRCP government. With this confidence, it is being said that similar settlements are taking place in several issues related to major scams that occurred during the previous government.
